Kambo is a powerful cleansing ritual that originates in the rainforests of the Amazon.
For centuries, indigenous peoples have used this medicine to purify the bodyand mind, restore strength, and protect their energy.
It is collected from the Phyllomedusa bicolor — a bright green tree frog— without harming the animal. Kambo is therefore a gift from nature, not a sacrifice.
Unlike Sacred Plants, Kambo is not psychedelic.
It does not open inner worlds of visions, but works directly on the body and the energetic field.
It can feel like a fire baptism — intense, cleansing, and honest. It moves blockages, clears the system, and often leaves behind a deep sense of clarity and vitality.
Traditionally, Kambo was used as a hunter’s medicine — sharpening the senses, bringing focus, and strengthening the immune system.
In our modern world, it can serve in similar ways: as a reset, a support inpersonal processes, or a means to release what no longer serves you and reconnect with your natural strength.
At So Alegria, we guide Kambo with care, devotion, and a strong focus on safety.
We create a space in which you can move through the process at your own pace —with room for rest, music, and integration.
Not to steer your experience, but to hold and support you as you journey through the ritual.

Preparation is already part of the Kambo ritual. It is not only about what you do, but about the attitude and presenceyou bring.
In the days before the ceremony, we invite you to eat lightly and cleanly — mostly plant-based, simple, and without excess.
Avoid alcohol, drugs, caffeine, and other substances that cloud the system, so that your body can be clear and receptive.
This allows Kambo to work more deeply and ensures that the cleansing isunhindered.
Take a moment to connect consciously with your intention.
What would you like to release? What would you like to strengthen?
Your intention doesn’t need to be perfectly formulated — it can be a feeling, awish, or a direction.
What matters is your dedication and willingness to open to whatever unfolds.
This preparation is not a strict rulebook, but an invitation to take yourself seriously — to approach the ceremony with clarity, respect, and surrender.
After tuning in and setting your intention, you drink about 1.5 to 2 liters of water to prepare the body for cleansing.
We then make a few small superficial points on the skin — called gates in the Kambo tradition. On these gates, the secretion of the Kambo frog is applied. Through the lymphatic system, the medicine spreads quickly through the body.
Within minutes, you may feel warmth, a faster heartbeat, or tingling sensations. A phase of purification often follows — sweating, trembling, or vomiting. This usually lasts between 15 and 30 minutes. Afterward, calm returns, often followed by a sense of relief, clarity, and spaciousness.
Throughout theprocess, you are never alone. We guide you step by step, safeguard your safety, and ensure that you can fully surrender to the medicine.

After thesession, you will often feel clean and light, as if old weight has been released. Some people feel immediate energy and focus; others need a day to rest andrecover. The effects can continue to unfold in the days that follow — bringing increasedvitality, clarity, and inner peace.
We recommend taking it slow, drinking plenty of water, and eating lightly soyour body can recover and integrate optimally.
For a deeper effect, Kambo is often practiced in a cycle of three sessions within 28 days. With each session, the body recognizes the medicine more quickly, allowing it to work more deeply on physical, emotional, and energetic levels.
Before your first session, we always do a detailed intake to ensure a safe, personal, and respectful experience.

Kambo is known for its purifying and strengthening properties.
Many participants experience more energy, sharper focus, and a stronger immunesystem. It can help release tension and stored emotions, often leaving a sense of clarity and calm.
For those dealing with stress or burnout, Kambo is often felt as a powerful reset — helping to break patterns of tension and create space to comeback into balance. For some, it also becomes a catalyst to release unhealthy habits or repetitiv cycles.
Kambo does not work by adding something to you — it works by helping you let go of what you no longer need. In that release, new space arises — for vitality, clarity, and a deeper connection with yourself.
