DESCRIPTION

The ceremony takes place in a warm and secure space at our home in Ouderkerk aan de Amstel, with full attention to your personal process. In a small group of up to four participants, we invite you to join a Kambo ceremony.

Kambo — the cleansing medicine of the frog — supports you in releasing old weight, clearing body and mind, and rediscovering strength and clarity.

We always begin with a gentle welcome. At the start of the ceremony, we work with Rapeh, a sacred tobacco medicine that helps you ground in your body and calm your mind. You’ll then drink a measured amount of water under our guidance — this supports the process, but it’s never the intention to drink excessively beforehand. We guide this carefully so that your body receives exactly what it needs.

Using a small heated stick, we open a few superficial points on the skin. This feels briefly warm and does not draw blood. The Kambo secretion is then applied to these points. Almost immediately, your body begins to respond — with sensations such as warmth, a quickened heartbeat, nausea, sweating, or pressure in the head. The active phase usually lasts fifteen to thirty minutes. Often there is a release through vomiting, and sometimes through tears, sweating, or diarrhea. The body lets go of what it no longer needs.

After the peak, the effect fades quickly. We give you time to rest and recover, and offer something light and salty to eat. Afterward, there is space to share and ground together.

A cycle of three sessions is recommended for a deeper effect, though even a single ceremony can bring profound transformation.

FAQ

Your questions,
our answers

What is Kambo?

Kambo is a cleansing medicine derived from the secretion of the Phyllomedusa bicolor frog, native to the Amazon rainforest. It has been used for centuries by indigenous tribes to purify body and mind, strengthen the immune system, and bring clarity. With us, Kambo is applied with great care and respect, always attuned to your personal process.

What does a ceremony look like?

We welcome you in our small, homely ceremony space in Ouderkerk. Before we begin, we take time to connect, discuss your intention, and apply Rapeh, a sacred tobacco medicine that helps you ground and center. Kambo is then applied through small points on the skin. The actual Kambo experience usually lasts 15–30 minutes and is held in a safe and loving environment. Afterward, we serve a light meal and allow time for rest and integration.

Can I also join a group?

Yes, we host small group ceremonies at our home with a maximum of two participants at a time. This creates an intimate atmosphere with space for personal attention. You can also choose to do a private ceremony — either on your own or together with a partner or friend.

How should I prepare for the ceremony?

For a safe and clear experience, we ask that you fast for 12 hours before the ceremony. This means no food — only water or herbal tea. Avoid drinking too much, as you’ll drink a measured amount of water just before the ceremony as part of the process. You’ll also receive a detailed preparation document with dietary guidelines and practical do’s and don’ts. During the intake, we go through these step by step so you know exactly how to prepare and can enter the ceremony with confidence.

Are there any risks or contraindications?

Kambo is powerful and not suitable for everyone. Those with heart conditions, high or low blood pressure, epilepsy, recent surgeries, or certain medications should not participate. Kambo is also not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding. During the intake, we discuss all of this in detail to ensure you participate safely.

How does integration work?

After the ceremony, there is space to share and reflect on your experience. We support you in grounding the insights and effects of Kambo. In some cases, we also schedule a short integration call in the days afterward to help you further integrate your process.

Is one ceremony enough? I’ve read about doing a cycle of three.

One session can already bring significant movement and clarity. For a deeper and more lasting effect, we often recommend a cycle of three ceremonies within a short period of time, but this is never a requirement. You always know best what feels right for you.

Why hold a Kambo ceremony at your home?

Not all our Kambo ceremonies take place at our home, but this specific ceremony does. You’ll be welcomed into our small, intimate ceremony room in Ouderkerk — no large groups or anonymous halls, but a warm and personal environment where you can feel comfortable and supported. The setting is intimate and calm, allowing for full attention, presence, and personal care throughout your process.

With pure joy
